On the 8th of June, 2016 a particularly fruitful public international workshop was held at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Braunschweig on the topic of wake vortex.
Various European research establishments presented their related research activities at the Wake Vortex Workshop 2016; this was complemented by keynotes from EUROCONTROL and EASA and by an introduction to the Future Sky Safety coordination activities. Topics for future wake vortex work were discussed thoroughly and constructively with 27 participants, with valuable input from EASA, EUROCONTROL, industry, research establishments and universities. Presentations are now available at the workshop website.
After the event NLR, ONERA and DLR discussed future collaboration: the Wake Vortex Cooperation, initiated in the context of Future Sky Safety P1, is planning additional internal and public meetings and the development of an autonomous website to gain the visibility it deserves.
